User Assisted & Unattended Desktop
Assistance
The Digital Foundry provides on demand remote assistance to our
customers if required.
Time spent in remote assistance sessions is charged at the
prescribed rate as per the TDF Rate Sheet
There are two methods of remote assistance that TDF offers.
- Unattended / scheduled remote management
using client server software such as Remote Administrator, VNC
or Microsoft Terminal Services.
This service requires Client server software installed at each
workstation or server and is charged per device per annum at
time of installation.
This method is preferred for network installations, software
upgrades and core management of servers and infrastructure.
- User Assisted Desktop Support initiated by
a TDF technician using desktop rescue software requiring user
input.
This services utilises your web browser's capability and can be
initiated by request. At time of initial connection a web applet
is downloaded automatically and installed. No pre installation
of dedicated software is required and can be used in complex
network configurations without the necessity of opening firewall
ports. Users have the option to allow technician control of the
desktop or simply an overview of the users desktop.
Charges for this service is an annual license fee per
organisation site.
